What's happening in Inverness, sent to you
A free email for folk in and around Inverness, twice a week. The shop that's opening, the café that's closing, the road that's shutting and the council decision that'll land on your doorstep. Plus the best of what's on, when you fancy getting out.
What's in it
What's happening
The insider stuff. New shops and cafés, places closing their doors, new facilities, road closures, and the council and planning decisions that actually change your day-to-day. The things you'd otherwise hear about three weeks late, from someone at work.
What's on
Gigs, shows, comedy, family days out and the odd thing worth booking before it sells out. Picked, not listed, with times, prices and a line on why it's worth going.
Monday, 1pm: what's changing in town this week, plus a good night out midweek (because Wednesdays need all the help they can get). Friday, 7am: the weekend, day by day.
A taste: Monday 2 November
- Extra late-night trains are coming to the line north of Inverness. Good news if you've ever left a good night early for the last train home.
- Inverness has the highest direct cremation fee in Scotland, at £820. It could drop to £565.
- Hotel Chocolat in the Eastgate and Pizza Hut at the Retail Park have both handed back their premises licences.
- The Old Market Inn on Church Street looks like it could be changing hands.

Who's behind it
Hi, I'm Colin. Each issue is what I'd send a pal who asked "what's going on in town?": what's new, what's changed, what's worth getting out for, and a line on why. Short on purpose, because you've got a life to get on with.
Know about something that should be in it? I'd love to hear: hello@invernessedit.com
